The holidays are upon us, sandwich lovers and soon will be the time to swap gifts with loved ones. If you’re looking to share your sandwich devotion with that special someone, consider one of these fantastic gifts that is certain to compliment their kitchens:
panini press:
Perfect for the grilled sandwich fiend, this panini press is extremely affordable (less than $50) and would blend in with the sleekest of appliances in any kitchen.
grilled cheese maker:
I’m almost certain we had one of these exact grilled cheese makers in my kitchen when I was growing up. Whether you make your grilled cheese sandwiches classically with simple American slices or dress them up with the finest gruyère, a grilled cheese maker should be a staple of any kitchen.
sandwich cutters:
A good friend (and former boss) shared a great find for sandwich lovers: the sandwich cutter! Found here and here, these cutters can turn any sandwich into a simple shape for even the most picky of eaters. Added bonus: perfect to use with children in the kitchen!
the kitchenaid stand mixer:
And finally, I firmly believe no kitchen (real or imaginary) would be complete without a KitchenAid Stand Mixer. My amazingly hilarious and absolutely brilliant friend Kelly introduced me to the dazzling world of the KitchenAid and I’ve been obsessed (though not as much as her) ever since. If you plan to make your own dough for breads, I can’t imagine you mixing and kneading your dough with any other device. I mean, just look at it. Isn’t it beautiful?
Of course, these are just a few of the wonderful gifts you can bring to your loved ones’ kitchens. And, even if you aren’t planning to give one of these this holiday season, I highly encourage you to get lost in the housewares section of a department store and build the kitchen registry of your dreams.
Happy Holidays, friends!

Beautiful work. BEAUTIFUL. That Kitchen Aid… that slate… that sheen… I think I’m going to need an inhaler.
So I know this is all about Austin sandwiches, but maybe you could do a post about sister sandwiches across the globe. Like how our grilled cheese is England’s “cheese toastie.” That’s the ONLY example I could think of, so maybe you should actually avoid that topic.
Mad love for A.E.S. (in particular the B.E.F.),

Funny you write about a panini press. Diet Coke just dropped off cases of Diet Cokes in really cool bottles and a panini press for our sorority house last week. I didn’t quite get the connection, but I’m sure glad they like promoting to us!
